Harvesting herbs wasn't on my to - do list for the Harvesting herbs wasn't on my to - do list for the day BUT it was a brisk 32° here this morning and simply needed to be done. Le sigh. I lost every single basil plant 😞 I pulled all of the oregano, sage, and celery. The oregano and sage are used for winter wellness. A few years back (when we were having really hot, dry summers) I made the decision to switch to a cutting celery. It grows a lot like parsley in plentiful mounds, and is a way better keeper in drier weather. You can use it fresh all summer and it dries super easy and makes the BEST celery salt to have on hand all winter * chef's kiss *

Just thought this deserves a square before putting Just thought this deserves a square before putting it all away... I picked up organic peaches, concord grapes, cucumbers and green beans through @commongroundalaska this past week and oh my goodness was it ever a busy few days. A gazillion pints of peaches canned in water, grapes steam juiced and the juice canned in quarts for winter gummies, pickling cukes turned into 20 pints of delicious dill relish, and my first ever pressure canned green beans! So thankful for Kimmie's help getting everything chopped ❤️ So.Much.Cutting.
